Harris & Bruno ZRW + HP A2200: High-Speed Web Sample Kit


High-speed inkjet has changed what printers can accomplish in a production environment. As press speeds increase, every step that follows the press needs to keep up.

Harris & Bruno recently collaborated with HP and Billerud to create a new sample kit designed to showcase what coating can add to high-speed web production. The collection features ten different cards, each highlighting a different Aqueous or UV coating across imagery inspired by destinations and landmarks around the world.
The complete sample kit will debut at PRINTING United Expo 2026, September 23-25 in Las Vegas, where attendees will be able to see and feel the differences between each coating firsthand.
Built Around a High-Speed Web Workflow
Each card was printed on the HP PageWide Advantage 2200 using HP Brilliant Ink and HP Optimizer with HP High-Definition Nozzle Architecture in Quality Mode. The substrate is Billerud Sterling® Points EX, 14 pt. soft-gloss stock.
From there, the pieces were coated on the Harris & Bruno ExcelCoat ZRW using Harris & Bruno Synergy Coatings.
The combination demonstrates an important part of modern web production: finishing needs to complement the speed and productivity of the press rather than become the next bottleneck. The ZRW was developed specifically for high-speed web environments, allowing printers to integrate chamber-anilox coating into an inline or nearline workflow while maintaining the production advantages that make web inkjet so valuable in the first place.
For printers producing higher volumes, that ability to keep coating aligned with press output can have a major impact on overall throughput.
Ten Coatings, Ten Different Results
The kit also demonstrates how much flexibility can come from a single coating platform.
Across the ten cards, the collection features Harris & Bruno’s Synergy Coating. Various effects include AQ Gloss, AQ Matte, AQ Soft Touch, AQ Playing Card, UV Gloss, UV Matte, UV Reticulated, UV Photo Finish, UV Silver Glitter, and UV Fine Grit coatings.
Some change the visual appearance of the sheet, while introducing a tactile element. Others are designed around functional performance. Together, they show how coating can become another tool for differentiating applications after the image comes off the press.
That flexibility becomes especially valuable in digital production, where printers may move between very different applications throughout the day. A high-speed web coating solution needs to support that variety without working against the productivity of the press.
Why Coating Speed Matters
A fast press only creates value when the rest of the production process can support it.
If coating requires a separate process that cannot match production demand, work begins to queue between printing and finishing. That adds handling, increases work-in-process, and can extend turnaround times.
