Taktikful Unboxing: Out of This World Embellishments

Taktiful recently invited Harris & Bruno to join them for a live unboxing of the Out of This World Embellishments pack, and it turned into a moment where the industry could see, in real time, what happens when design, print, and embellishment come together with intention.
Originally introduced at Dscoop, these samples were created through a collaborative design effort that brought together students, independent designers, and experienced professionals. Printed on HP Indigo and brought to life on the Harris & Bruno ZRX Digital Embellishment Press, the kit represents what is possible when embellishment is not treated as an afterthought.
Designed with Purpose, Not Added at the End
One of the biggest takeaways from the unboxing was how differently these pieces approached embellishment. This was not about adding a bit of foil to a logo or a touch of gloss to a headline. These designs were built around embellishment from the start. In many cases, embellishment was not supporting the design. It was the design. When embellishment is integrated into the concept, it becomes part of the value of the piece, not just an upgrade at the end.
What the ZRX Makes Possible
While the session focused on the samples, the consistency and complexity of the work spoke volumes about the capabilities behind it.
The ZRX Digital Embellishment platform enables printers to combine multiple embellishment effects in a single workflow, with precise registration and repeatability. High-build textures, matte finishes, and foil applications can be layered in ways that were previously difficult or inefficient to achieve.
More importantly, it removes the barriers that have historically limited creativity.
Printers are no longer held back by concerns around the need for expensive plates, dies, or lack of variability. That opens the door to new applications, new conversations with customers, and new opportunities to differentiate.

Closing the Educational Gap
A key theme that came through during the unboxing was the importance of education.
Because these samples came from a design-driven collaboration, they showcased a level of creativity that goes beyond typical day-to-day production work. It highlighted a gap that still exists in the industry. Many designers and print buyers are not yet fully aware of what modern embellishment technology can do. That is exactly why this collaboration matters.
If the next generation of designers understands how to design for embellishment from the beginning, the entire industry benefits. Printers can produce more impactful work. Brands can create more engaging experiences. And embellishment becomes a standard part of the creative process, not a specialty add-on.
Seeing Is Believing
Even through a live stream, the reaction to the samples was immediate. As each piece was unboxed and discussed, it became clear how important visualization is in selling embellished print. Texture, reflectivity, and depth are difficult to communicate through flat files or descriptions alone. When people can see how light interacts with a surface, the value becomes obvious. That is why sample kits and proof-of-concepts are so powerful. They turn abstract capabilities into something tangible.
A New Standard for What Print Can Be
The Out of This World Embellishments unboxing was not about introducing something entirely new, but rather showing what is possible when the tools we already have are used to their full potential.
Printers who embrace embellishment as part of their core offering, not just an occasional enhancement, are in a position to stand out, command higher value, and build stronger relationships with their customers.

Over the coming weeks, we will be highlighting individual designers, breaking down specific pieces, and taking a closer look at the techniques and thinking behind each project. Select samples have also been submitted for the FSEA Gold Leaf Awards, which take place June 17-19, 2026.
This was our first annual designer collaboration, and it reinforced something we strongly believe: Education and collaboration are key to moving the industry forward.
